Santa Cruz 545 Brothers and Sisters:
Thank you everyone that have volunteered your time to make every day a success at the 545 in the past two months. Thank you to all of the cooking crews on the busy Thursday night burgers, the Friday night dinners, Sunday breakfasts, and Taco Tuesdays. Thank you to all of the members that volunteered their time during the July and August special events - July 4th BBQ, Wine-Down Wednesdays, District Social on July 7th, and the District Picnic on August 18th. Thank you to all the members who volunteered their time bartending, setting up, cleaning, ordering, lodge maintenance (inside and outside) and the administrative tasks that keep our lodge running.
Why is volunteering so important? The success of our lodge relies on volunteers to remain afloat, raise money for our community and support Mooseheart and Moosehaven. The lodge cannot function without volunteers and the officers cannot do it alone. A few hours of cooking, cleaning or hosting an event can make a huge difference. Volunteers make our team complete and we are always on the lookout for more volunteers. If any member is interested in volunteering, please talk to an officer. Come to the General Meeting on the first Thursday every month. Commit to a couple of hours a month. If you can’t commit to volunteering your time or manual labor, please attend one or two of the dinners, breakfasts or other food events or non-food events every month. The volunteers work very hard, please show your appreciation for their time and effort by attending. And, please remember to thank them personally.
The current campaign is “Moose on a Mission”. In order to fulfill our Mission, we must promote membership growth. Remember, we have a goal of “Plus 1” to meet. Sponsor a new member. Tell your friends and family about the Moose. Bring them to the lodge to enjoy a burger or a meal and show them around. Remember your bonus LOOM members, you have until March 31, 2019 to sponsor three LOOM members and receive a free years dues. Also, if you know of a member you sponsored that has let their dues lapse, call them. Encourage them to pay their dues and return. Please help by working on lowering the arrearage numbers.
Check the September and October calendar for upcoming meals and events. The current Board of Officers made and is fulfilling a promise to the members in their May/June bulletin article to volunteer their time bringing new ideas, events and meals for all to enjoy. The Board needs all of the members to recommit to participating in our lodge. We have a great lodge and a great membership. We can make the 545 even better if we all work together.
Welcome Moose Members to the Santa Cruz Moose Lodge Members Only section! This Members Only Website has more specific information about our lodge. The link to the home page above takes you back to the public part of the site.

Thanx for visiting the Santa Cruz Moose Lodge Website. Members, remember to tell the webmaster about your events and community service efforts so we can tell all members on the website to better promote Lodge Activities. Be sure to check back from time to time as I will be adding things as we go along.
